【Tech Lecture】Analysis of Shock and Vibration Plain-Language Explanation of the Response Spectrum Method
Vibration is the most common form of instantaneous, high-frequency, and intense vibration in engineering practice. It widely exists in scenarios such as equipment impact, transportation jolts, mechanical collisions, and explosive excitation. Sensors are the only front-end devices for capturing shock vibration; the two are closely connected and indispensable. The exact time history of the transient random loads of shock vibration is difficult to describe through equations, so direct transient analysis cannot be used for calculation. The response spectrum method is based on a special type of modal superposition. Its idea is to provide an input to limit the extent to which characteristic modes with specific natural frequencies and damping can be excited by such events....
