Today, I took the high-speed train from Xi'an West Station to Chengdu to attend the Western (Chengdu) Intelligent Sensor Ecological Development Conference. The Xi'an High Speed Rail West Station does have too few customers, and we look forward to the rapid development of Fengdong New Area, which will also drive the popularity of Xi'an West Station.

The high-speed railway passes through the Qinling Mountains, and due to the large number of tunnels, the wireless signal is fast and slow. Therefore, there is time to browse through previously collected news, information, WeChat, and other fragmented information related to sensors that I do not have free time to read. There are some feelings that don't seem to express themselves, perhaps too extreme.

MEMS, not sensors, is a method or technology for processing micro sensors, although it is one of the most important technical means. At present, many people in the sensor industry in China, as well as many elites in the investment industry, believe that MEMS is a sensor, and sensors are MEMS.

According to relevant reports, there are already over 50 MEMS production lines in China, including four inch, six inch, and eight inch production lines. The East invests 500 million yuan, the West invests 10 billion yuan, the South invests 2 billion yuan, and the North adds another 10 billion yuan. Blooming on all sides, striving for excellence, chasing after each other, I really don't know where their customers are? How is the demand estimated.

As a person in the sensor industry, I am very happy that investors are optimistic about sensors, but this strategy is highly competitive, and what are the returns? Perhaps it is a groundless worry.

I think the number of MEMS production lines in China is severely saturated at this stage. Before the epidemic, I called for our MEMS production lines to be sufficient in a post titled "God Talk and Drama Chat". If these production lines can reach 50% operation and 80% qualification rate, it is estimated that they can also meet the global demand in 2023. But there are still many places under construction. I really don't want our thriving sensor industry to become the television industry of the 1980s, the communication industry of the 1990s, the internet industry of the 2000s, and the photovoltaic industry of the 2010s.

Although the sensor industry is not as large and fragmented as the aforementioned industries. In the next decade, there may be M large enterprises in the sensor industry out of N tracks, but it is inevitable to waste financial and human resources now. What a pity for us who truly make sensors!

At present, sensors, apart from the relatively large consumption of consumer electronics, are indeed suitable for MEMS production lines. There is a demand for medical electronics and automotive electronics, and there are several six inch production lines. It would be great if they could be fully produced. How many MEMS production lines have already been built in our country that can saturate production? Most people are waiting for rice to cook!

This morning, the Western (Chengdu) Intelligent Sensor Industry Ecological Development Conference was grandly held at the Tevoli Hotel of the Chengdu Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum. Three sub forums will be held simultaneously in the afternoon. They are the Intelligent Sensing and Aerospace Theme Forum, the Intelligent Sensing and Biological Health Theme Forum, and the Intelligent Sensing and Urban Security Theme Forum.

The opening of the conference is standardized and formatted nationwide, with speeches from key leaders and relevant intentions or agreements signed. Invite a celebrity to give a keynote speech. Then the main leader leaves.

But this time, the main leaders of aviation industry airborne companies participated, especially Secretary Chen Tianyan, the leader of AVIC Kaitian Company (a company specializing in aviation sensor business), who attended the meeting from beginning to end. This was also a very professional sensor meeting that I attended so many sensor meetings. At the same time, the leaders of the aviation industry airborne company also released the development status of China's aviation airborne sensors, which is helpful for the audience to understand the current situation of China's aviation industry sensors. Chengdu Kaitian Company, a state-owned enterprise, has such a broad mind, such grandeur and courage to build a sensor ecosystem in China. I think I quite admire it, it's not easy. Gu Ge naturally likes Kaitian Company and hopes that the sensors in China's aviation industry can be independently controlled as soon as possible, without relying on foreign technology.

I hope more Chinese state-owned enterprises, like Chengdu Kaitian Electronics, can cooperate with numerous high-tech private sensor enterprises to run the Chinese sensor industry well and demonstrate the unity of the Chinese sensor industry.

My old friend, Li Gang, Chairman of Suzhou Minxin Micro Company, also shared his experience and thoughts on working hard in the field of MEMS sensors for more than ten years. Different ideas and insights on the development of consumer electronic sensors and industrial sensors, as well as different approaches to mass production and small-scale production. How to shift from large-scale production of consumer electronics to high-end small-scale industrial and aviation sensor production, as well as their company's multiple technologically advanced products.

In the afternoon forum, Gu Ge participated in the Intelligent Sensing and Aerospace Theme Forum. The content of the forum is both professional and rich, attracting numerous sensor professionals to participate.

The topic of the first three guests' speeches is very attractive, but the content is too conceptual. Perhaps for newcomers to this industry, it can provide a general understanding. But the specific content is not enough to attract more professional people, perhaps they have limitations on the content that cannot be delivered.

Professor Zhu Jianguo's speech at Sichuan University delved deeply from theory to practice, from scientific research to specific applications, especially in the study of high-temperature piezoelectric materials. It also pointed out the direction for the audience to understand the development of piezoelectric materials internationally.

My old friend Ke Youxin, as the General Manager of Shanghai Yingsi Sensing Technology Co., Ltd., who has just started his business, has unleashed his over 20 years of research and development, production, and market potential in the field of pressure sensors, and the development prospects are very promising.

Today's speech analyzed the process structures and packaging technologies of various MEMS pressure sensors both domestically and internationally, showcasing their company's performance in China.

Gu Ge also gave a speech on China's original MCS high-end pressure sensors, hoping that MCS sensors will have more applications in the high-end aerospace field.

231706000146748806.jpeg

For nearly 100 years, the principles or processes of all pressure sensors have been created or discovered by foreigners. Whether it is strain gauge type, capacitive type, or the popular MEMS in recent years, sputtering thin film, ceramic piezoresistive, glass micro melting, sapphire, etc., are all invented by foreigners without exception. Can't Chinese people have their own inventions and discoveries in the new era?

Xi'an Chinastar M&C Ltd.  will break this tradition and hope that the pressure sensors of MCS technology will be branded with the Chinese logo and go global. We Chinese people not only need to invent, but also the technology we invent should not fall behind the existing technology. At the same time, we need to expand more high-end applications, so that MCS technology can bloom and bear fruit worldwide.

231706000221287403.jpeg

To be honest, in today's China, products made by Chinese people learning foreign technology are not trusted in high-end application fields. It is even more difficult to promote products made with Chinese original technology. But in this era of being choked, we will have more opportunities, not only because of Chinese original technology, but also because MCS pressure sensors have a higher cost-effectiveness.

Chengdu Kaitian Electronics Co., Ltd., as a professional company, is holding its first sensor conference of this scale, hoping to truly form an industrial ecosystem and promote the development of the sensor industry in Sichuan Province. I hope that the development of China's sensor industry will usher in a new wave of climax.
