It's already the third day since I came to Shenzhen. The temperature in Shenzhen is just like that in Xi'an. It seems that I've chased the cold current all the way from Xi'an to Shenzhen, and I don't even feel hot wearing a cotton waistcoat.
Yesterday, I participated in the "Sensor Ecology Day" held by the China Sensor and Internet of Things Industry Alliance at the Carlton Hotel in Shenzhen. I listened to some insights shared by the big shots in the sensor field, the periphery of the sensor field, and the application field. Apart from Professor Guo Yuansheng's inspiration on the application of AI and sensors, there didn't seem to be many more inspiring ideas or insights. But it's rather gratifying that people close to the sensor field outside the industry are gradually accepting some viewpoints put forward by Brother Gu many years ago. This is indeed a great thing. After all, so many people are starting to understand sensors, apply them, and get closer to those in the sensor field. For us traditional sensor professionals, this is definitely a great advantage. This is also a powerful driving force. In the future, China's sensor industry will surely transform from imitation and catching up to surpassing the advanced levels of foreign countries.
Among any three people walking together, there must be someone I can learn from. We shouldn't be too proud.

The annual dinner before the sensor exhibition was held as usual last night, and it passed rather uneventfully. It's gratifying to see many new faces, young faces. At the same time, I also got to know many vibrant young people related to sensor components, calibration systems, and the application side. This is indeed a potential undercurrent. I believe that in the future, the sensor industry in China will surely thrive and surge. Learning from new friends will enable us to acquire unexpected cultural knowledge and perceptions.

Today is March 31st, the first day of the Shenzhen International Sensor Exhibition. It is said that there are more than 400 Chinese and foreign enterprises participating in the exhibition. Of course, most of them are Chinese enterprises. I imagine that if 30% to 40% of truly foreign sensor enterprises come to China to participate in the exhibition in the next five years, it will be a period of prosperous development for China's sensor market and also a period when China's sensors will participate in global competition. Do we still need to rely on "involution" and low prices to compete with them? If we can truly combine low prices with high quality, the market will belong to us. I hope that thousands of various sensor enterprises in China will be prepared for the future. If 50% of the enterprises are well-prepared, it will also be a gratifying thing.

In the afternoon, Gu presided over the 3rd Pressure Sensor Innovative Application Forum. I think the organizing committee made rather good arrangements. There are not only world-leading sensor enterprises such as TE from Switzerland, Drucker from the UK, and Adi from the US, which are top global sensor and conditioning chip manufacturers. There are also Chinese companies like Hunan Qitai Technology Co., Ltd., which bravely ventures into mass production in the field of sputtered thin-film pressure sensors, and Dongguan Judeshou Company, which constructs a temperature-pressure integrated sensing element on a ceramic substrate. There are also Xiamen Jingwei Precision Company, which firmly follows the path of localization and produces high-temperature pressure cores, and Chinastar M&C, which produces the MCS high-end pressure sensor "core" body.
What have we learned and thought about as people in the sensor industry when Chinese and foreign sensor enterprises, regardless of their long history or small scale, compete on the same stage? What should we do when we return to our own companies? I believe that for someone who listens carefully, there will definitely be some inspiration or help.

In the afternoon, there was an interesting and even explosive debate on the temperature-pressure integrated packaging design of Dongguan Judeshou Company. The reason is that Boss Wang of Dongguan Judeshou Company offered a reward of 50,000 yuan for the audience present to challenge their temperature-pressure integrated design and its practice. If General Manager Chen, the speaker on the stage, couldn't satisfactorily answer the questions raised by the audience, a reward of 10,000 yuan would be given.
Unexpectedly, the first two people who raised doubts were from the same company, technical personnel from Sensata, a global giant in the pressure sensor field. Although there were some confrontations, it still allowed the audience to learn more about technical and material issues. There was no clear winner or loser, so it was judged as a draw, and each of the two people was rewarded 5,000 yuan.
A female technical staff member raised a more specific and pointed question, that is, when the Kovar pin is inserted into the ceramic hole, should the glue be applied first or the pin be inserted first? This involves the company's technical secrets, and General Manager Chen was stunned on the spot and found it difficult to answer. Great! According to the rules, a reward of 10,000 yuan was given.
Not bad. Spending 20,000 yuan to make a big advertisement for the professional audience present. Brother Gu is also writing this whimsical and chatty article to give them an advertisement and give them a thumbs-up.
The last speech at the forum was "self-directed and self-performed" by Gu himself, which was arranged by the organizing committee. The topic may raise doubts among many people. But after listening to the speech, most people nodded frequently. Surprisingly, more than 30 people wanted to add his WeChat for communication. The two most important audience customers are potential clients that are usually very difficult for us to find.
Shenzhen is truly a hot land, and there is an astonishing and huge difference compared with Xi'an. This further strengthens our determination to settle in Shenzhen. Tomorrow, Brother Gu decides to inspect a new place.
