"Innovate": Explore smart city application scenarios

On October 24th, in the exhibition hall of Xi'an Chinastar M&C, Wei Lifeng, the IoT Marketing Director, explained and demonstrated the company's independently developed smart city solutions to the reporters. These solutions include the smart manhole cover monitoring system, urban flooding monitoring system, and smart parking monitoring system, which can provide real-time monitoring and early warning for urban safety management, digital street management, and intelligent community management, offering strong support for urban safety.

It is understood that Xi'an Chinastar M&C focuses on sensor and IoT solutions, developing high-performance MCS pressure sensors and high-tech products such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, and inertial measurement units. In 2005, Xi'an Chinastar M&C became the first Chinese company to participate in the world's largest sensor and testing exhibition held in Germany, and has continued to exhibit for 15 consecutive years since then.

While deeply rooted in the traditional industry of sensors, Xi'an Chinastar M&C acutely identified the application of its technology products in smart city construction and quickly expanded into this field. For example, when sensors are applied to heavy machinery processing plants, they can achieve remote fault diagnosis, reducing operational risks for enterprises. In the monitoring of public facilities, such as detecting tilts in utility poles and water or electrical leaks from inspection openings, sensors can also play a significant role.

IoT sensors are the 'nerve endings' of smart cities. They can real-time perceive various data in the city, such as manhole cover movement status, road water accumulation conditions, parking space status, garbage bin overflow conditions, fire hydrant water pressure, etc., providing accurate data support for the operation of smart cities, said Wei Lifeng, the IoT sales director of Xi'an Chinastar M&C Co., Ltd., to the reporter.

So far, Xi'an Chinastar M&C has accumulated 119 patents and 9 software copyrights. Meanwhile, Chinastar M&C has led the formation of the Xi'an IoT Ubiquitous Engineering Innovation Consortium and the Xi'an Intelligent Pressure and Inertial Sensor Engineering Technology Research Center. From a traditional sensor manufacturer, it has transformed into a comprehensive solution provider for the Internet of Things (smart city/smart manufacturing), with the driving force behind this transformation being Xi'an Chinastar M&C's continuous dream of "innovation".
