Small Talk about Sensor While Travelling (136)

During the holiday, strolling barefoot on the soft sand by the Red Sea, allowing the clear waves of different sizes to wash over your sunburned calves again and again. Most adults of different skin colors will feel comfortable and relaxed, while some may feel a little bit of fear. As for the little children, they will feel frightened and scream.

The same experience can bring completely different feelings. It seems that life is just like this when you grow up. Life is like walking on the beach, where you will encounter tides of different intensities and wave heights. Including political crises, economic fluctuations, and public opinion waves. Some people will take them in their stride, while others will be panicked; some people will enjoy them, while others will be fearful.

The Chinese economy in 2025 will face greater external pressure. For two consecutive terms, the US government has been smearing and attacking China in various ways. At the beginning of Trump's "presidency 2.0", he has been using various means to delay China's development, and the allies of the US have joined in the action. Every Chinese enterprise is facing various difficulties. In the face of various impacts, some enterprises will be like the optimistic people walking on the beach, enjoying and meeting the challenges; while some other enterprises are pessimistic and depressed, fearful and stagnant.

There are indeed some differences in the ideological concepts of people in inland and coastal areas, in terms of environment, habits, culture and then traditions. Its manifestations are in political concepts, ideologies, business concepts, education methods and so on.

Shaanxi is a typical inland province, not adjacent to the sea, rivers or borders. Its economic development has long been at the middle level in China, just reaching the passing mark. The business community believes that the government is inactive and the business environment is poor; the government believes that the business community does not do practical things and is afraid of taking risks. This kind of interaction and mutual influence between the government and the business community has formed a serious lazy concept. As a result, Shaanxi's economy is sluggish and it is difficult to rapidly improve people's living standards, including those in the political and business circles.

Not being able to see the sea, people lose their imagination of the other side of the sea...

Well! Having talked too much, let's talk about something specific. According to incomplete statistics, there are about more than 200 sensor companies in various forms in Shaanxi Province. Shaanxi's sensor industry was once among the best in the country, but in the recent decade, with the world's attention to the sensor market, Shaanxi has fallen behind, which is an indisputable fact. In the past, the sensor technologies and industries in Guangdong and Zhejiang were far behind Shaanxi's, but now they have surpassed Shaanxi. In another three to five years, with the increase in their investment intensity, they will leave Shaanxi further behind.

Well! Again, I've digressed. Let's talk about today's matter. At the end of March and the beginning of April this year, the Shenzhen Sensor Application and Technology Exhibition will be held in Shenzhen. This is also the largest sensor technology application exhibition in Asia. The Shaanxi Sensor and Internet of Things Industry Alliance plans to organize more than ten enterprises in the province to form a Shaanxi exhibition group to participate in this exhibition. Meanwhile, we have negotiated with the exhibition organizers for the best discount price, and the alliance is also prepared to provide some subsidies to each participating enterprise within its capacity.

That is the situation. The promotion started before the Spring Festival. As of today (February 6th), only three or four enterprises have signed up, far from meeting the expectation.

Baoji is building the "Western Sensing Valley" and the "Capital of Western Sensors" in China. Liu Liqi, the secretary - general of the alliance, went to Baoji in person to discuss with the park and the government, hoping to help Shaanxi's sensor enterprises promote their high - quality products and showcase their unique technologies at the sensor exhibition. It is hoped that we can all go to this currently largest sensor exhibition in China to demonstrate the strength of Shaanxi's sensors, and more Shaanxi sensor enterprises are expected to participate. It is hoped that the efforts of our alliance will not be in vain.

I have posted the notice of participating in the exhibition many times in my WeChat Moments. Not many Shaanxi enterprises have signed up, but there are already two enterprises from other places that are willing to sign up and hope to get discounts. What a big difference! Dear readers, what do you think is the reason?

Although there are many sensor enterprises in Shaanxi, they are not large in scale, not strong in technology, and there is serious homogeneous competition. This is exactly the time when we need to go out of Shaanxi and give play to Shaanxi's concentrated advantages. However, Shaanxi people and Shaanxi enterprises have a weak awareness of participating in market exhibitions and invest less in sales expenses.

I have also participated in many domestic and foreign exhibitions. It's not only Shaanxi's sensor enterprises, but also other Shaanxi enterprises that participate less in foreign exhibitions.

At the world - famous CES in Las Vegas, USA, Chinese exhibitors account for one - third of the booths. How many Shaanxi enterprises participate? Recalling the CES in 2017, Chinastar M&C carried the "Filial Piety First iHelp" elderly smart device to participate in the exhibition. Before our exhibition, the exhibitors from Shenzhen actually asked us, "Where is your company in Shenzhen?" They didn't expect that there would be an enterprise from Shaanxi coming to participate in the CES in the United States!

At the world - famous Hanover Messe, Chinese enterprises also account for nearly 40% of the booths. Again, how many Shaanxi enterprises participate? Once, when I was on a flight from Frankfurt to Shanghai, a foreigner on the same flight actually asked, "How far is Xi'an from Yiwu?" which greatly surprised me. Xi'an's international influence is actually much worse than that of Yiwu, indicating that Xi'an's economic influence is really insufficient!

At the Canton Fair, known as the "No. 1 Exhibition in the Universe" and held twice a year in spring and autumn, what percentage of the booths can Shaanxi enterprises account for? How large is the local export volume in Shaanxi every year excluding that of foreign - funded enterprises? How much is contributed by state - owned enterprises and how much by private enterprises?

Why can't Shaanxi's economy take off? It's because Shaanxi enterprises participate less in various domestic and foreign exhibitions!!

This conclusion is too simple and straightforward, and surely most people won't agree. But I think this is very important.
